‘Perseverance’ aterriza en Marte y envía su primera imagen
El robot de la NASA envió su primera vista del planeta rojo inmediatamente después de su peligroso aterrizaje.
El Rover Perseverance de la NASA aterrizó con éxito en Marte este jueves 18 de febrero. Se trata del vehículo más avanzado jamás enviado al planeta rojo, ya que tiene una capacidad inmejorable para detectar vida microbiana o huellas de esta, captar imágenes y sonidos como nunca antes y otras fascinantes características.
Tras su llegada envió su primera imagen de la superficie marciana, la cual llegó en baja resolución y sin procesar, justo como esperaba el equipo de la NASA.
Su llegada no fue fácil, la nave que lo transportó debió realizar una serie de peligrosas maniobras, lo que la agencia espacial denominó “siete minutos de terror” debido a que en todo momento corrió el riesgo de estrellarse a gran velocidad contra la superficie marciana.
El Perseverance tiene aterrizó en el cráter Jezero, que tiene un diámetro de unos 45 kilómetros y se encuentra en el borde de la cuenca de impacto gigante de Isidis. La evidencia morfológica sugiere que alguna vez albergó un lago, hace unos 3.500 millones de años.
La nave, que salió de la Tierra el 30 de julio de 2020, tuvo que viajar más de 470 millones de kilómetros para llegar a su destino.
