Mujer que celebró sus 118 años de vida reveló el secreto para ser tan longeva

Margaret Maritz, una sudafricana que celebró este viernes su 118 cumpleaños, se ha convertido en una de las personas más longevas del mundo. El festejo tuvo lugar en un hogar de ancianos ubicado en Touws River, a unos 180 kilómetros al noreste de Ciudad del Cabo.
Maritz, nacida el 27 de septiembre de 1906, celebró la ocasión con una pequeña reunión organizada por una asociación local, donde sopló una vela en una gran tarta de cumpleaños rosa, acompañada por dos de sus 14 hijos. Su documento de identidad, que fue presentado a los medios, sugiere que es mayor que la actual persona más longeva registrada oficialmente, la japonesa Tomiko Itooka, quien tiene 116 años.
El Secreto de su Longevidad
Aunque Margaret Maritz podría superar a la japonesa Tomiko Itooka en edad, la persona más longeva registrada oficialmente es la francesa Jeanne Calment, quien vivió hasta los 122 años y 164 días, un récord que aún permanece sin superar.
