¿Jóvenes pueden vivir sin smartphone? Más de dos millones lo hacen en Alemania
La tendencia de vivir desconectado en la era digital está presente en Alemania. Jóvenes afirman que ha cambiado la forma en que experimentan la vida diaria.

En una era donde la conectividad digital es casi omnipresente, es difícil imaginar vivir sin un teléfono inteligente o acceso constante al correo electrónico. Sin embargo, según datos de la Oficina Federal de Estadística de Alemania, aproximadamente 3 millones de personas en ese país han optado por vivir desconectadas.
Entre estos individuos, no solo se encuentran personas mayores; sorprendentemente, dos millones y medio de los que han decidido desconectarse son jóvenes.
Benno Flücel, un residente de 32 años de Berlín, es uno de ellos. Para él, el sonido del timbre de su antiguo teléfono Nokia es una rareza en medio de la era de los teléfonos inteligentes. «Cuando mi Nokia empieza a sonar en cualquier lugar, la mayoría de las personas se ríen», admite Benno.
La experiencia de Benno es casi una oda a la nostalgia. Vive desconectado, sin WhatsApp, redes sociales o cualquier otra aplicación digital. Incluso ha optado por prescindir de cuentas bancarias, prefiriendo un método más tradicional de transferencias mediante un código QR impreso. Aunque esta elección tiene sus desafíos, como admite el sociólogo Stephan Humer, interesado en esta nueva tendencia.
«La desconexión tiene sus costos. Acceder a servicios bancarios, por ejemplo, puede ser más complicado y costoso», comenta el Dr. Humer.
A pesar de tener acceso a internet en su hogar, Benno prefiere permanecer desconectado mientras está fuera. Esto significa tomar nota de direcciones y encontrar su camino sin la ayuda de la tecnología.
Sin embargo, descubrir que el mundo físico ya no ofrece las mismas herramientas puede resultar un desafío. María Hohn, una periodista de RTL, intentó adquirir un mapa físico en una estación de servicio para moverse sin depender de la tecnología.
«El empleado de la gasolinera me dijo que ya no vendían mapas, ya que la mayoría de las personas los habían reemplazado por sus teléfonos celulares», comparte María.
A pesar de los desafíos iniciales, cada vez más personas están optando por desconectarse. Descubren que esta elección les brinda más tiempo para actividades cotidianas y aficiones, permitiéndoles disfrutar de una vida más tranquila y relajada.
