Jair Bolsonaro tiene síntomas de coronavirus y suspendió sus actividades para hacerse el test
El presidente de Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, tiene síntomas de coronavirus y suspendió su agenda de actividades para someterse a un nuevo test de Covid-19.
El presidente Jair Bolsonaro aseguró ante simpatizantes, a los que encontró al regresar al Palacio de la Alvorada, que se realizó este lunes un estudio pulmonar y se haría un nuevo examen para verificar si fue infectado por el nuevo coronavirus, cuyo resultado será divulgado el martes.
Además, en declaraciones a un canal de televisión, CNN Brasil, el mandatario declaró haber tenido fiebre de 38 grados, uno de los síntomas de Covid-19, y estar ingiriendo hidroxicloroquina, una droga usada en general para tratar la malaria que presenta riesgos para los pacientes y no tiene eficacia comprobada para tratar la infección por nuevo coronavirus.
A ese canal el presidente indicó también que el estudio pulmonar consistió en una resonancia magnética.
Previamente a ese encuentro con simpatizantes y hacer declaraciones a CNN Brasil, Bolsonaro suspendió sus compromisos en el Palacio del Planalto y concurrió al Hospital Militar de Brasilia, donde suele hacerse revisiones periódicas de su estado de salud.
En la conversación con los simpatizantes, que habitualmente lo aguardan a su salida y a su llegada de la residencia presidencial, Bolsonaro utilizaba barbijo, cuyo uso acaba de vetar en espacios cerrados, en el marco de la ley nacional recientemente aprobada por el Congreso para regular su utilización a nivel nacional.
“No se acerquen mucho”, pidió Bolsonaro a sus simpatizantes, en otro raro pedido del presidente brasileño, quien habitualmente desobedece cualquier orientación científica sobre prevención de Covid-19.
Como parte de su agenda oficial, Bolsonaro tuvo el lunes reuniones con seis ministros, entre ellos el de Economía, Paulo Guedes, además del secretario de Cultura, Mario Frías, pero luego suspendió sus compromisos, entre ellos la participación en un evento oficial sobre discapacidad para trasladarse al Hospital Militar, ubicado a pocos kilómetros de la sede de gobierno.
Bolsonaro ya se realizó tres hisopados para detectar Covid-19. Todos los exámenes los realizó en marzo, cuando regresó de un encuentro con su colega estadounidense Donald Trump, en Miami, de donde volvieron infectadas 23 personas que lo acompañaban en su comitiva.
En esa oportunidad, Bolsonaro dijo que todos habían presentado resultado negativo, pero se rehusó a mostrar los test, que fueron divulgados dos meses después tras la demanda de un periódico, O Estado de S.Paulo, ante la corte suprema de justicia con el argumento de que la sociedad brasileña tenía derecho a conocer el estado de salud del presidente.
A CNN, Bolsonaro dijo también que tenía un porcentaje de 96 en la medición de oxigenación en sangre, un nivel normal. El gobierno canceló la agenda del presidente para el resto de la semana.
La información sobre la salud del presidente brasileño, dada a conocer por el propio mandatario y no por médicos que lo atienden, ocurrió en el mismo día en que Bolsonaro amplió los vetos al proyecto de ley que convirtió en obligación en todo Brasil el uso de barbijos.
Bolsonaro vetó, contrariando lo aprobado por el Congreso, su uso obligatorio en cárceles, además de dejar sin efecto la necesidad de que comercios en funcionamiento durante la pandemia informen con carteles sobre la forma correcta de usar tapabocas y el número máximo de personas aceptado en cada establecimiento.
Previamente había vetado su uso en lugares cerrados como comercios e iglesias, lo que enfureció a legisladores, que buscan dejar sin efecto la decisión.
Hace algunos meses se refirió al Covid-19 como una “gripecita”, relacionó su “histórico de atleta” con la posibilidad remota de contraer la enfermedad y dijo que los brasileños debían ser estudiados porque pese a que se sumergían en cloacas, nunca se contagiaban con nada.
