Fuego cruzado entre Hezbolá e israelíes deja más de 700 muertos en el Líbano
Israel justificó los ataques señalando que estos iban dirigidos a la sede central de Hezbolá, supuestamente ubicada bajo inmuebles residenciales. 120.000 personas han tenido que abandonar sus hogares.
Un bombardeo israelí de gran magnitud arrasó este viernes, 27 de septiembre de 2024, varios edificios en los suburbios del sur de Beirut, dejando al menos dos muertos y decenas de heridos. Este ataque, considerado uno de los más intensos en la región en años recientes, tuvo como supuesto objetivo al líder de Hezbolá, Hasán Nasrala. Aunque el grupo chií no ha confirmado aún su deceso, fuentes de seguridad israelíes aseguran que el bombardeo tenía como blanco el cuartel general subterráneo del líder, ubicado en un edificio residencial del barrio de Dahye.
Devastación y víctimas
Las explosiones, que se sintieron en toda la capital libanesa, derrumbaron varios edificios, dejando tras de sí columnas de humo visibles a gran distancia. Equipos de rescate siguen trabajando entre los escombros para localizar a posibles sobrevivientes. Según el Ministerio de Salud Pública del Líbano, hasta el momento se han registrado dos muertos y 76 heridos, aunque las autoridades han advertido que el número de víctimas podría aumentar.
Continuación de una semana de bombardeos
Según la ONU, alrededor de 30.000 personas han cruzado la frontera hacia Siria buscando refugio. Los bombardeos también han dejado un saldo devastador en términos humanos: el ministro de Salud Pública del Líbano, Firas Abiad, informó que solo entre la medianoche y el mediodía del viernes, 25 personas murieron en diferentes zonas del país. Uno de los ataques más trágicos ocurrió en Chebaa, al sur del Líbano, donde nueve miembros de una misma familia perecieron en el colapso de su vivienda.
Crisis humanitaria
La violencia y los bombardeos han generado un desplazamiento masivo que ha desbordado los albergues abiertos por las autoridades. Varias ONG han denunciado la falta de recursos para atender las necesidades de las familias afectadas, señalando que muchos de los refugios se encuentran abarrotados y no tienen suministros suficientes.
