Boontom Chaimoon, un hombre tailandés de 55 años, protagonizó un insólito incidente al olvidar a su esposa en la carretera y manejar más de 150 kilómetros sin darse cuenta.
El suceso, reportado por Clarín, ocurrió cuando Boontom y su esposa, Amnuay, regresaban a Maha Sarakham tras pasar las vacaciones de Navidad en Bangkok. Alrededor de las 03:00 horas, decidieron detenerse en el costado de la carretera para orinar.
Según el India Times, Boontom no se percató de que su esposa también había bajado del automóvil para ir a un bosque cercano a hacer sus necesidades. Al regresar al vehículo, él se subió y continuó su viaje, dejando a Amnuay atrás.
Amnuay, al ver que su esposo se marchaba solo, quedó completamente desconcertada y comenzó a caminar en busca de ayuda. Tras dos horas de caminata y 20 kilómetros recorridos, llegó a Kabin Buri, donde logró ponerse en contacto con la policía.
Con la asistencia de los agentes, Amnuay intentó llamar a su esposo, pero no pudo encontrar su teléfono, ya que lo había dejado en un bolso dentro del automóvil. Finalmente, tres horas después, a las 08:00 horas, logró comunicarse con Boontom, quien entonces se dio cuenta de que había conducido 159.6 kilómetros sin ella.
