Muere Kirstie Alley, actriz protagonista de la inolvidable ‘Mira Quién Habla’
Su deceso fue dado a conocer por su familia, quienes aseguraron que perdió la batalla contra un cáncer que le fue diagnosticado recientemente.
Kristie Alley, famosa actriz estadounidense, falleció este lunes, a los 71 años, víctima de un cáncer que le fue detectado recientemente, informaron sus hijos a través de las redes sociales de la actriz.
Alley será recordada por sus protagónicos en la trilogía de las películas “Mira quién habla”, “Mira quién habla también” y “Mira quién habla ahora”, al lado de John Travolta. En televisión, fue reconocida por su papel de Rebecca Howe en “Cheers” de 1987 a 1993, un papel que le valió un Emmy y un Globo de Oro en 1991 y por la serie “Veronica’s Closet”, que también su personaje le valió varias nominaciones.
La noticia fue dada a conocer por sus hijos mediante un comunicado que publicaron en la cuenta de Instagram de la actriz, en donde se lee: “A todos nuestros amigos alrededor del mundo: Nos entristece informarles que nuestra increíble y amorosa madre, falleció después de una batalla contra el cáncer, el cual le fue recientemente descubierto.
Estuvo rodeada de su familia más cercana y luchó con mucha fuerza, dejándonos con la certeza de su inagotable alegría por vivir y por las aventuras que le esperaban. Tan icónica como fue en la pantalla, lo fue también como madre y como abuela fue aún más increíble.
Estamos agradecidos con el increíble equipo de médicos y enfermeras del Moffitt Cancer Center por todas sus atenciones. El entusiasmo y la pasión por la vida de nuestra madre, sus hijos, nietos y muchos animales, sin mencionar su eterna alegría por crear, no tenían límite y nos dejan inspirados para vivir la vida al máximo, tal y como lo hizo ella. Les agradecemos y amor y oraciones y les pedimos que respeten nuestra privacidad en este difícil momento”.
John Travolta lamentó su muerte
Nacida el 12 de enero de 1951, en Wichita, Kansas, Estados Unidos, fue una actriz, productora y guionista, cuya trayectoria comenzó en el cine durante los años 80, y desde entonces apareció en películas y series televisivas donde interpretó roles cómicos y dramáticos.
También fue parte de “Star Trek II: la ira de Khan” (1982), “Diversión en el colegio de verano” (1987), Sibling Rivalry (1990), It Takes Two (1995), “En la riqueza y en la pobreza” (1997) y “Muérete, bonita” (1999). Ganó su segundo premio Emmy en 1994 por el telefilme David’s Mother y recibió otra nominación al Emmy en 1997 por su trabajo en la serie dramática sobre crímenes “El último Don”.
Las manifestaciones de afecto tras el deceso de la actriz no se hicieron esperar. Entre los primeros en manifestar su pesar por la noticia está el actor John Travolta, quien protagonizó junto a Alley la célebre trilogía de finales de los 80.
“Kirstie fue una de las relaciones más especiales que he tenido. Te amo, Kirstie. Sé que nos volveremos a ver”, escribió Travolta en Instagram.
Hasta el momento se desconoce qué tipo de cáncer era contra el que luchaba, que finalmente fue el que acabó con su vida.
