En la noche de este domingo, Miley Cyrus hizo historia al ganar su primer Grammy tras 16 años de carrera.
A sus 31 años, la cantante recibió el galardón a mejor interpretación pop solista por su sencillo Flowers, el cual forma parte de su octavo álbum de estudio, titulado Endless Summer Vacation.
Concretamente, se trata de su primer Grammy después de ocho nominaciones a lo largo de su trayectoria.
Seis de estas nominaciones se presentaron en la edición de este año. Además, su disco Endless Summer Vacation está en las categorías mejor álbum vocal pop y álbum del año.
Junto con la victoria como mejor interpretación pop solista, la canción Thousand Miles fue nominada a mejor interpretación pop de dúo/grupo.
Flowers también recibió reconocimientos en categorías importantes como mejor interpretación pop solista, canción del año y grabación del año.

Las nominaciones a los premios Grammy de Miley Cyrus comenzaron en 2015 con su álbum Bangerz. Aunque en ese momento no se llevó el premio, esta experiencia marcó el inicio de su búsqueda del codiciado gramófono.
No fue hasta 2022 que recibió otra nominación por su participación en la canción Am I Dreaming con el rapero Lil Nas X.
