‘Drag queens’ excluidas de Teletón planean realizar show para donar dinero al Hospital de Niños
‘Drag queens’ tendrían un segmento en la actividad, sin embargo, fue cancelado.
Todo estaba preparado para que el “Show Drag Costa Rica” fuera parte del “bloque de artes” en la Teletón edición 2023.
Sin embargo, el Club Activo 20-30 Internacional de San José, organizador del evento, canceló la presentación argumentando “solicitudes recibidas por diferentes grupos de la sociedad costarricense”.
Ahora las drags estudian alternativas para realizar la presentación y poder realizar su aporte al Hospital Nacional de Niños (HNN).
Candi Iser, vocera del Equipo Drags de Costa Rica-Teletón, comentó a AmeliaRueda.com que la noticia les resultó indignante ya que bailarines, maquillistas, diseñadores, coreógrafos, entre otros llevaban varias semanas preparándose para el show.
“Eran más de cinco géneros los que íbamos a manejar durante todo el espectáculo. Entramos, salimos, caracterizaciones, los cabellos, o sea, las pelucas que todas iban a utilizar, pues ya quedaron peinadas. Estaba todo completamente listo porque al ser un evento tan, tan importante como la Teletón, íbamos a hacer historia siendo el primer grupo de drags participando organizadas en una Teletón, ya todos los detalles estaban listos”, detalló Iser al citado medio.
La artista también arremetió contra varios medios de comunicación que mostraron su rechazo al evento y los tildó de tener “doble moral”. Explicó que el espectáculo estaba programado para las 2:00 a.m. y que la música y vestuario que usarían en el escenario no caían en lo vulgar.
“Sabíamos que era un evento en el que el motivo principal es el colaborar, el donar para este montón de niños y niñas. Evidentemente cuidamos todos los detalles para que se cuidara la música, la imagen de cada una de las drags. No íbamos con absolutamente nada vulgar, cuidamos cada detalle de vestuario, que todo fuera muy artístico, para que nadie tuviera un pretexto para poder decir ‘esto no estuvo bien’ y al parecer en nuestro país esto no es suficiente”, explicó la drag.
Ahora el equipo analiza propuestas; “mini teletones” se han acercado para pedirles que presenten el show, además clubes nocturnos y una empresa les han ofrecido espacios, pero la intención es que pueda ser un show abierto.
Las drags indicaron a AmeliaRueda.com que independientemente del escenario donde se presenten las ganancias que reciban serán donadas en su totalidad a la maratón solidaria.
