A consecuencia de la Covid-19, el periodista Adrián Méndez aún no puede caminar
El narrador de Teletica Radio permaneció durante 52 días en cama e intubado.
El periodista deportivo de Teletica Radio y TD Más, Adrián Méndez, reveló que todavía no puede caminar a consecuencia de la Covid-19 que lo mantuvo 52 días en cama e intubado en el Hospital Max Peralta, en Cartago.
En una entrevista publicada por el periódico La Teja, Méndez, contó que va recuperándose poco a poco de los problemas de salud que le causó el coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
“Mi primer mes de recuperación ha sido espectacular. Mis papás y mi hermana prácticamente le han dado otra vez movilidad a mi cuerpo, me han sanado una pequeña úlcera que tenía y según me dicen los fisioterapeutas, avancé en el primer mes lo que se tarda tres meses. Ya me levanto en andadera y doy algunos pasitos, pero todavía falta para volver a caminar”, aseguró el comunicador al rotativo.
Méndez contó que una de las cosas más difíciles que ha tenido que afrontar es la falta de movilidad.
El periodista indicó que los doctores le explicaron que las neuropatías que tiene en los pies son por haber estado tanto tiempo en cama y en diversas posiciones.
“Cuando estaba en coma pasaba en una misma posición muchas horas y eso provoca que el cuerpo se coma los músculos de las pantorrillas, la tibia y los muslos, por lo que se me debilitaron mucho las piernas”, dijo.
El talento de Teletica Radio, definió a la Covid -19 como una lección y una oportunidad a la vez que le cambió la vida para siempre.
«A partir de ahora veo la vida de otra forma y quiero ser otra persona en muchos aspectos y por supuesto, en la parte espiritual porque yo sé que mucha gente en Costa Rica y fuera del país oraron mucho por mí y soy católico, pero no practicante. Ahora me he dado cuenta del gran poder de la oración, lo importante que es estar cerca de Dios y de la virgen de los Ángeles, que la tengo tan cerca», acotó.
Adrián, aseguró en la entrevista que fueron tres los factores que le ayudaron a superar esta dura prueba: «Primero, el creer en Dios, en que Él me iba a sanar, y tener claro que estoy viviendo cosas muy buenas a nivel personal y a nivel laboral y yo no podía dejar esas cosas inconclusas. Estoy viviendo momentos mágicos con mi hija Mariana (de 12 años) y yo no podía dejarla a ella».
Méndez es un guerrero y no es la primera vez que vence a la muerte. Hace 10 años sufrió un accidente de tránsito que le provocó serias lesiones.
“Venía de Cartago hacia San José, fue un 24 de diciembre de 2011, por eso digo que los años terminados en uno no me ha ido muy bien, iba para la casa de mi hija a dejarle el regalo de Navidad y me dormí, choqué contra un árbol y quedé prensado varios minutos, pensé que me iba a morir ahí”, recordó el narrador.
“Por suerte, solo fueron problemas en los huesos, en la rodilla, en el pecho, al final pude pasar el Fin de Año en la casa, no estuve internado, pero sí tardé tres meses en caminar solito porque se me fracturaron los tobillos y la rodilla se jodió”, agregó.
Por último, el periodista envió un mensaje a los que mantienen la idea de que la Covid-19 no existe.
«La Covid mata, la Covid hace sufrir a tu familia, la Covid hace sufrir a tus amigos, te saca del trabajo, de tus actividades cotidianas, así que, los que puedan vacunarse que lo hagan», concluyó.
