Costa Rica recibe 56.800 vacunas donadas por República Dominicana
Este es el quinto lote que el país recibe por donación.
Un contingente de 56.800 vacunas contra el coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 donadas por el Gobierno de República Dominicana llegó la mañana de este viernes a territorio costarricense.
Se trata de biológicos de la farmacéutica AstraZeneca.
Javier Moreira, capitán al mando del vuelo de Vigilancia Aérea de Seguridad Pública, se mostró orgulloso y emocionado de ser parte del traslado.
“Este es un esfuerzo país. El trabajo es de todos, somos uno, somos Costa Rica. ¡Qué orgullo ser parte de este vuelo de esperanza!”, aseguró Moreira quien es vecino de Alajuela y tiene 21 años de experiencia en Vigilancia Aérea.
Costa Rica ha recibido 998.700 dosis por donación, que corresponden a las entregas de los Gobiernos de Estados Unidos (503.100), Canadá (319.200), España (69.600) , Austria (50.000) y República Dominicana (56.800).
A la fecha, el país registra una suma acumulada de 6.818.745 dosis recibidas. De este total, 5.820.045 vacunas corresponden a contratos de compra (4.785.495 Pfizer/BioNTech, 775.200 AstraZeneca y 259.350 por medio del mecanismo multilateral COVAX de la OMS).
