Constructora MECO: “Confiamos en el sistema jurídico de Costa Rica”
Empresa se pronunció sobre las acciones judiciales realizadas por el caso “Cochinilla”.
Por medio de un comunicado de prensa la constructora MECO se refirió a las acciones judiciales realizadas desde el pasado 14 de junio por el caso “Cochinilla”, en el que se investiga a funcionarios del Gobierno y de empresas privadas por la supuesta malversación de fondos destinados a la construcción de obra pública.
“Constructora MECO reitera su confianza en el sistema jurídico del país, según el cual las personas son inocentes hasta que se demuestre lo contrario”, indica el comunicado.
La noche de este sábado la jueza Carolina Lizano del Juzgado Penal de Hacienda y Función Pública del II Circuito Judicial dejó sin medidas de prisión preventiva a los investigados por el caso denominado por las autoridades como “Cochinilla”.
Luego de que la Fiscalía solicitara un año de prisión preventiva para los imputados, Lizano solo impuso medidas alternativas a los implicados.
La Fiscalía Adjunta de Probidad, Transparencia y Anticorrupción (FAPTA), indica que en el expediente 19-000025-1218-PE se investigan los presuntos delitos de cohecho propio, tráfico de influencias y estafa, en perjuicio del Estado, en contra de funcionarios públicos del Conavi, Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT) y Ministerio de Hacienda, así como de personas particulares de empresas constructoras.
La tesis que maneja el OIJ es que la aparente malversación de fondos generó un déficit de ₡78.000 millones, en detrimento de las finanzas públicas, entre los años 2018, 2019 y los primeros trimestres del 2020 informó el periódico La Nación.
