(Video) Luciana Alvarado llamó la atención mundial al hacer la señal de ‘Black Lives Matter’ en Tokyo 2020
La gimnasta costarricense contó la razón por la que decidió cerrar una de sus rutinas con esa pose.
Con una sonrisa y un aplomo espectacular la primera gimnasta olímpica en la historia de Costa Rica, Luciana Alvarado Reid, deslumbró al mundo con su participación en los Juegos Olímpicos Tokyo 2020.
Con tan solo 18 años la costarricense brilló en su participación en las barras asimétricas, la barra de equilibrio y en el salto de potro. Sin embargo, en la rutina de suelo hizo un gesto que no ha dejado de ser noticia en los principales medios de comunicación del mundo.
De esa forma simuló la postura que se hizo famosa en son de protesta a lo largo del mundo, en especial en el espectro deportivo, luego del asesinato del estadounidense George Floyd, el año anterior, a manos de un policía de la ciudad de Minnesota.
“Siento que si haces algo que une a todos, es como decir ‘eres uno de los míos, entiendes las cosas’. Es importante que todos sean tratados con respeto y dignidad y todos deben tener los mismos derechos porque todos somos iguales y todos somos hermosos y asombrosos. Por eso me encanta tenerlo en mi rutina”, declaró Alvarado al sitio web especializado GymCastic.
De hecho, el sitio de la cadena estadounidense NBC, indicó que la demostración de Luciana es la primera de su tipo en un escenario internacional de la gimnasia élite.
La gimnasta obtuvo una puntuación total de 51.306 en el evento realizado en el Ariake Arena. Finalizó en el lugar 51 de 85 gimnastas.
Pese a su destacada participación, no le alcanzó para meterse entre las mejores 24, las cuales pelearán la final.
Sin embargo, quedó como la segunda mejor latinoamericana, solo detrás de la brasileña Reveca Andrade, la segunda mejor de todas las participantes.
Sin duda, Luciana, decidió dejar huella en Tokyo 2020, más allá de su brillante desempeño deportivo.
