Personas transgénero tendrán prohibido competir en las categorías femeninas de atletismo
Así lo decidió World Athletics, la federación internacional de atletismo.
El presidente del organismo, Sebastian Coe, declaró este jueves que a partir del 31 de marzo no se permitirá participar en competiciones que puntúen para el ránking mundial a ninguna atleta transgénero que haya pasado por la pubertad masculina.
Asimismo, agregó que se creará un grupo de trabajo para seguir investigando las directrices de elegibilidad de las personas trans. “No vamos a decir que no para siempre”, afirmó Coe.
Después de tres días de reuniones, el Consejo Mundial de Atletismo dejó en 2,5 nanomoles por litro (la mitad) la cantidad máxima de testosterona en plasma permitida para atletas con diferencias en el desarrollo sexual (DSD). Además, ninguna atleta transgénero que haya pasado por la pubertad masculina podrá competir en competición femenina a partir del 31 de marzo.
