La Tricolor le gana a El Salvador 2-0, pero no convence
El equipo de Gustavo Alfaro empezó con buen pie el 2024
La selección de Costa Rica derrotó 2-0 a El Salvador con goles de Jostin Daly y Aaron Suárez.
La Tricolor avisó, la selecta no reaccionó y al minuto 19′, Jostin Daly abrió el marcador tras un saque de esquina que el delantero remató de cabeza tras una mala salida del guardameta rival Mario González. El salvadoreño no pudo llegar a despegar y el atacante quedó solo contra el marco.
A los 25 minutos, la azul y blanco tuvo su primera oportunidad con una jugada donde se disputaba el balón en el área de los nacionales y ninguno podía hacerse con el mismo tras un remate en blanco de Isaac Esquivel.
Aún con las buenas intenciones de los cuscatlecos, Costa Rica seguía siendo peligrosa con sus llegadas y Warren Madrigal estuvo cerca de aumentar el marcador tras un contragolpe que terminó con un remate potente que se fue rozando el palo.
Segundo tiempo
Para la etapa complementaria, Gustavo Alfaro solo hizo una modificación en el medio campo mientras que David Dóniga mantuvo a los mismos protagonistas en la cancha.
Al minuto 70’ y con las modificaciones realizadas, la Sele aumentó el marcador por medio de Aaron Suárez quien tenía pocos minutos en cancha. El jugador del Alajuelense recibió un pase de su compañero tras un mano a mano con Mario luego de un error de Melvin Cruz que dejó a los dos atacantes solos contra el cancerbero.
Con este juego, la Tricolor se prepara para el repechaje a Copa América ante Honduras.
