En plena gira europea de la Sele fallece Erick Rodríguez, asistente técnico de la Tricolor
Rodríguez también fue técnico de las selecciones U-17, U-20 y dirigió en el fútbol nacional a equipos como Santos y el Municipal Liberia.
La mañana de este martes 12 de setiembre, la Federación Costarricense de Fútbol (Fedefútbol) dio a conocer la lamentable noticia del fallecimiento del entrenador nacional Erick Rodríguez quien actualmente cumplía como asistente técnico de Claudio Vivas en los partidos amistosos de la Selección Nacional en Europa.
Dicha noticia la dio a conocer la Federación por medio de un comunicado de prensa, donde indicaron que la muerte de Rodríguez se dio a causa de una neumonía.
“El pasado sábado el señor Rodríguez presentó un tema de salud durante el traslado de Newcastle a Zagreb, razón por la cual durante la escala en Ámsterdam se decidió que permaneciera en esa ciudad para ser valorado médicamente, siempre en compañía de un miembro del staff administrativo de la Selección Mayor”
“No obstante, el domingo fue internado en el Hospital OLVG de esa ciudad. Ese mismo día la Federación realizó los contactos para que su esposa viajara a Países Bajos quien logró arribar el pasado lunes. Sin embargo, en la madrugada de hoy martes, su estado de salud empeoró y lamentablemente Erick Rodríguez falleció al lado de su esposa a las 3:45 p.m (hora local)”, indican en el comunicado.
Asimismo, en dicho documento detallaron que la Federación está corriendo con los gastos de la situación para repatriar el cuerpo del dirigente a Costa Rica.
