El contundente mensaje de dos atletas olímpicos a Carlos Alvarado
Ignacio Sancho y Leilani McGonagle no se guardaron nada y reaccionaron a un mensaje de felicitación del mandatario.
El presidente de la República, Carlos Alvarado, envió un mensaje de felicitación, por medio de sus redes sociales, a los atletas que participaron en los Juegos Olímpicos Tokyo 2020.
“Clasificar a los Juegos Olímpicos es, por sí mismo, un logro inmenso. Cada reto, todo el sacrificio y cada momento de lucha son y serán grandes aprendizajes. De corazón gracias por la alegría que le dieron a toda Costa Rica. ¡Adelante!”, escribió Alvarado.
“Muchas gracias. Hay que mejorar las instalaciones deportivas en los Comités Cantonales para que nuestros futuros atletas Olímpicos tengan un espacio adecuado en donde formarse, Mantengamos esa pasión en los niños, apoyemos más el deporte”, escribió el judoka Sancho quien fue el primer tico en su deporte en ganar un combate en unos Juegos Olímpicos y obtuvo el noveno lugar en la categoría de 66 kilogramos.
Por su parte Leilani McGonagle indicó: “Gracias. Esperamos haberte enseñado lo que puede brindar el deporte con un apoyo apropiado y constante”.
Costa Rica culminó su participación en los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio 2020 el 6 de agosto anterior y aunque no ganó medallas, sí hizo historia: por primera vez su delegación colocó cuatro atletas en los mejores 10 lugares de sus respectivas disciplinas.
Además, el ciclista de BMX Freestyle, Kenneth Tencio, y la surfista Brisa Hennessy recibieron un diploma olímpico.
