“Confiamos mucho en la justicia de Costa Rica”: Luis García, representante del “Cubo” Torres
El delantero mexicano Erick “Cubo” Torres enfrenta un período de inactividad que se ha extendido por más de tres meses tras dar positivo en una prueba antidopaje a finales del año pasado, lo que lo ha dejado inhabilitado para la práctica del fútbol hasta que se resuelva su situación.
Luis García, el representante de Torres, tuvo una entrevista con DIARIO EXTRA desde México, donde se encuentra el jugador, para abordar el manejo del proceso mientras aguardan una audiencia definitiva que aún no tiene fecha, pero que podría ser determinante para el curso de su carrera deportiva.
García compartió al citado medio que el proceso ha sido más complicado de lo anticipado, aunque confía plenamente en que el delantero saldrá bien librado de esta situación. “En lo personal estamos tranquilos porque sabemos qué fue lo que hizo el Cubo y qué fue lo que no hizo, las cantidades y la culpabilidad de los doctores de ADG”, expresó.
El agente de Torres ha depositado su confianza en el sistema judicial costarricense: “Estamos confiando mucho en la justicia de Costa Rica, nosotros desde México lo vemos como un país bastante legal, fiel, justiciero, vemos un país muy tranquilo en ese sentido y confiamos mucho en la justicia de Costa Rica, que con las pruebas que tienen evidentemente van a darle el favor al Cubo”, agregó.
En cuanto al proceso, Juan Carlos Baldizón, presidente de la Comisión Nacional Antidopaje de Costa Rica (Conad), explicó a EXTRA que están recopilando más pruebas para llevar el caso a la audiencia final ante el Tribunal Nacional de Dopaje (TND), un proceso que podría tardar aproximadamente un mes antes de que la Conad presente la solicitud al TND. Posteriormente, será el Tribunal el que establezca una fecha para la audiencia.
Torres arrojó positivo el 15 de noviembre anterior a una prueba antidopaje por el uso de clostebol mientras jugaba para Guanacasteca, y desde el 25 de enero está bajo sanción provisional por parte de la Conad.
Entre esas fechas, el jugador fue transferido al Herediano, aunque la transferencia se vio afectada por el resultado analítico adverso.
El 8 de febrero, el TND confirmó la inhabilitación temporal del delantero mexicano en una audiencia preliminar, a la espera de la audiencia definitiva que marcará el rumbo de su situación.
