“Digan a mis hijos que los amo”: las últimas palabras de Simone, víctima del atentado en Francia
Simone Barreto Silva, madre de tres pequeños, rezaba en una basílica de Niza cuando un sujeto ingresó y la agredió con un arma blanca junto a otros dos fieles. El gobierno de Brasil, país donde nació, repudió el ataque.
“Digan a mis hijos que los amo”, fueron las últimas palabras pronunciadas por Simone Barreto Silva, una brasileña de 44 años que falleció el último jueves 29 de octubre, tras ser víctima de un ataque con cuchillo en una iglesia de Niza (Francia).
Madre de tres hijos y nacida en Salvador de Bahía, Simone había migrado al país europeo hacía varios años. Vivía en Gambetta, un barrio popular de la ciudad, en el sureste de Francia. El miércoles, cuando rezaba en la basílica de Notre-Dame, fue atacada por un tunecino de 21 años que arremetió también contra otros dos fieles.
“Ella estaba ahí rezando, entró ese tipo que detesta a los cristianos (…) y acuchilló a esa señora allá dentro”, lamentó el presidente Jair Bolsonaro en su conexión semanal por Facebook, y calificó el ataque como un acto de “cristofobia”.
Simone Barreto Silva quedó gravemente herida en el atentado, pero logró huir a un restaurante vecino. “Cruzó la calle, cubierta de sangre (…). Aún hablaba, decía que había alguien dentro (de la iglesia)”, contó Brahim Jelloule, dueño del establecimiento, a la radio France Info.
El hermano de Jelloule y un empleado del restaurante intentaron entrar en la iglesia pero vieron al atacante, armado con un cuchillo. Según Jelloule, Simone murió una hora y media después de ser herida.
“Digan a mis hijos que los amo”, logró decir antes de fallecer, de acuerdo a testimonios difundidos por la cadena BFMTV.
Simone Barreto Silva trabajaba cuidando ancianos, pero su pasión era la cocina y soñaba con abrir un restaurante de comida brasileña en esta ciudad de la Costa Azul francesa donde vivía desde hace varios años.
El gobierno de Brasil publicó una nota oficial en la que repudió el ataque y manifestó “en especial su solidaridad a los cristianos y a las personas de otras confesiones que sufren persecución y violencia por sus creencias”.
También informó que, a través del consulado general en París, “proporciona asistencia consular a la familia de la brasileña víctima del atentado terrorista”.
Las otras dos víctimas del atentado en Niza son una mujer de 60 años que fue degollada por el atacante y el sacristán de la basílica, Vincent Loquès, que habría cumplido 55 años este viernes. Ambos fueron asesinados dentro del templo.
