NASA alerta sobre posible impacto de meteorito contra la Tierra en próximo 2 de noviembre
El asteroide 2018VP1 fue visto por última vez en noviembre de 2018, por lo que hay una gran incertidumbre sobre su trayectoria.
De acuerdo con Neil deGrasse Tyson, un pequeño asteroide del tamaño de un refrigerador podría impactar contra la atmósfera terrestre el 2 de noviembre.
El divulgador científico también explicó que no podría causar daños; mientras que la NASA estima que la probabilidad de que el asteroide 2018VP1, de la clase de Apolo, impacte contra la Tierra en su aproximación más cercana el 2 de noviembre es del 0.41%.
“El asteroide no es tan grande como para impactar con éxito en la superficie de la Tierra. La velocidad con la que va, a más de 40,000 kilómetros por hora es como impactar de frente contra un muro”, explicó deGrasse Tyson.

El asteroide 2018VP1 fue visto por última vez en noviembre de 2018, por lo que hay una gran incertidumbre con su trayectoria, los expertos de la NASA aseguran que podría pasar a medio millón de kilómetros de distancia de la Tierra.
“Es muy pequeño, aproximadamente 2 metros, y no supone una amenaza para la Tierra. Si entrara en la atmósfera se desintegraría en muy pequeñas partes”, informó la NASA al reiterar que no hay peligro con la llegada del asteroide.
