Un juez del condado de Hennepin ha retirado un cargo de asesinato en tercer grado contra el exoficial de policía de Minneapolis (Estados Unidos) Derek Chauvin por el asesinato de George Floyd, según informa CNN. Al sujeto de 44 años se le ve presionando el cuello de la víctima con su rodilla en los videos del incidente.
Chauvin todavía enfrenta cargos de homicidio en segundo grado por la muerte de Floyd el 25 de mayo. Este suceso provocó protestas en todo el país y el mundo, además de un ajuste de medidas sobre la fuerza policial en Estados Unidos.
Chauvin, quien fue liberado con una fianza de $ 1 millón a principios de este mes, fue visto en videos del incidente arrodillado sobre el cuello de Floyd durante casi ocho minutos. El afroamericano le dijo a Chauvin y a otros tres oficiales que no podía respirar en reiteradas ocasiones, pero no fue escuchado.
