Papa Francisco: ‘’Homosexuales tienen derecho a una familia’’
El Sumo Pontífice asegura que integrantes de la comunidad LGTBIQ+ tienen derecho a “una familia” y promueve la “ley de convivencia civil”. Declaraciones se dieron en el marco de un documental que aborda su alcance pastoral.
El papa Francisco otorgó un respaldo histórico a la creación de una ley de unión civil entre parejas homosexuales y aseguró que tienen “derecho a estar en familia”, según el documental Francesco del director Evgeny Afineevsky, que se estrenó el miércoles 21 de octubre en el Festival de Cine de Roma, Italia.
“Son hijos de Dios, tienen derecho a una familia. No se puede echar a nadie, ni hacer la vida imposible por eso”, dijo el Sumo Pontífice en la película que aborda su alcance pastoral hacia los migrantes y refugiados, los pobres, los abusos sexuales por parte de clérigos, el papel de la mujer en la sociedad y a quienes se identifican como LGBT (lesbianas, gays, bisexuales y transexuales).
Al ser consultado sobre el tema de la unión civil entre personas del mismo sexo, Jorge Mario Bergoglio dijo:
’’Lo que tenemos que hacer es una ley de convivencia civil. Tienen derecho a estar cubiertos legalmente’’. ‘’Yo defendí eso’’, agregó.
Legado de arzobispo
Cabe recordar que, en el 2010, cuando el Sumo Pontífice era arzobispo de Buenos Aires, fue un acérrimo opositor del matrimonio homosexual, luego que Argentina se convirtiera en el primer país de América Latina en legalizarlo. En cambio, pidió respeto a los derechos civiles para parejas homosexuales, como poder heredar, auxiliarse mutuamente, etc.
El documental también narra la historia de una pareja homosexual de italianos a quienes, según su testimonio, el papa Francisco animó para que llevaran a sus hijos a las clases de catecismo de su parroquia.
Mensaje a los LGBT
A diferencia de sus predecesores, Francisco ha optado por mostrar empatía por la comunidad LGBT desde que tomó las riendas del catolicismo en el 2013, algo que le ha costado críticas de los jerarcas conservadores de la Iglesia. Y también señalamientos de “hipocresía”.
“Si una persona es gay y busca a Dios y tiene buena voluntad, ¿quién soy yo para juzgarlo?”, dijo en su primera conferencia de prensa tras ser electo.
