Se trata de una persona que ha regresado al país tres años después de huir a Corea del Sur
Corea del Norte ha reportado su primer caso sospechoso de covid-19 luego de que el pasado 19 de julio a la ciudad de Kaesong regresara de manera ilegal un potencial infectado con el nuevo coronavirus que había huido a Corea del Sur en 2017, informa la Agencia Telegráfica Central de Corea (KCNA).
El líder norcoreano Kim Jong-un ha convocado este sábado una reunión de emergencia del Buró Político del Partido del Trabajo para abordar la situación, en la que ha declarado que a pesar de los esfuerzos de las autoridades, ocurrió un incidente crítico que puede verse como la entrada del virus en el territorio nacional.
Ahora el Gobierno norcoreano ha decretado «urgencia máxima» en el territorio del país tras el posible brote en Kaesong, intensificando la respuesta gubernamental que sigue a las medidas profilácticas que estaban en vigor hasta el momento.
El desertor que regresó a Kaesong desde el país vecino fue puesto en cuarentena después de que sus muestras de las fosas nasales y la garganta, así como la prueba de sangre hicieran dudar a los médicos. Todas las personas que residen en la ciudad y con las que había contactado el sospechoso, y aquellos que han visitado Kaesong en los últimos cinco días, también fueron aisladas mientras las autoridades sanitarias analizan sus casos.
