La Casa Blanca afirma que Trump «salvó entre 3 y 4 millones de vidas» del coronavirus
«Han tratado de asustar al pueblo estadounidense»
La portavoz de la Casa Blanca, Kayleigh McEnany, ha asegurado este martes en una rueda de prensa que las decisiones del presidente Donald Trump ante la pandemia de coronavirus «salvaron entre tres y cuatro millones de vidas».
Trump se opuso inicialmente a la cuarentena, luego la reconoció como una medida necesaria y, posteriormente, comenzó a abogar por la pronta reapertura de la economía.
«El costo de permanecer cerrados»
En este sentido, McEnany indicó que, en muchos casos, los medios «han tratado de asustar al pueblo estadounidense» sobre el tema del coronavirus, y que, entre otras cosas, no han informado suficientemente «sobre el costo de permanecer cerrados».
Entretanto, «durante la pandemia vimos una caída del 80 % en la identificación de casos de cáncer», apuntó la vocera, que lo calificó de «costos reales» del confinamiento prolongado.
