Detienen a dos jóvenes que drogaron a su gato con marihuana y publicaron video en redes
Los detenidos enfrentan cargos por maltrato animal, siembra y suministro de estupefacientes. Las autoridades de Argentina advierten que los casos por crueldad hacia los animales se incrementan año a año.
Representantes del Ministerio Público de Argentina detuvieron a dos jóvenes que drogaron a un gato con marihuana para grabar un video y publicarlo en las redes sociales. El hecho sucedió el pasado 8 de julio, según informó el fiscal general de la República, Tarek William Saab, en su cuenta de Twitter.
Los detenidos identificados como Juan Carlos Delgado y Zagleira Castillo forman parte de la larga lista de ciudadanos aprehendidos en los últimos meses por maltrato animal. Saab explicó que los muchachos enfrentarán cargos por los delitos de siembra y suministro de estupefacientes, además de crueldad contra animales. En una fotografía tomada por las autoridades se puede ver a los detenidos juntos parados frente a una mesa con la planta dioica y abajo el gato.
“En el 2018 ingresaron alrededor de 2.000 casos de maltrato animal por gente que los tiene en departamentos o terrazas con falta de alimentos”, precisó a Télam Ricardo Bomparola, secretario de la Ufema.
Según registros del 2017 entre los barrios con más denuncias se encuentran: Palermo con 82, Caballito 67, Recoleta 63, Almagro 62, Flores 58, Balvanera 57, Nueva Pompeya 49, Villa Urquiza 46 y Villa Crespo 44.
La Ley 14.346 sobre maltrato y crueldad animal conocida como Ley Benítez, en Argentina, prevé penas desde 15 días hasta un año de prisión para quien hiciere víctima de estos actos a los animales no humanos.
“De esto se desprende la necesidad de una urgente reforma a esta ley, para que no solo prevea penas más altas, sino que también incluya nuevos tipos penales en referencia, por ejemplo, al abandono, la zoofilia, la tracción a sangre y la experimentación, entre otros temas”, indicó la abogada penalista y animalista, Lorena Bilicic.
