OMS y China ceden ante Estados Unidos
Reconciliación. La entidad de salud evaluará su propio accionar durante la pandemia. China quiere resolver disputas.
El director general de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, anunció la creación de una comisión independiente para revisar su actuación durante la pandemia, dos días después de que EEUU notificara su salida del organismo porque consideraba que este realizó una mala praxis en su lucha contra la Covid-19.
«Es el momento de reflexionar sobre lo que hemos hecho y buscar nuevas formas de colaborar», indicó Tedros.
Estados Unidos era el mayor donante de la OMS y le aportaba entre 400 y 500 millones de dólares anuales, aproximadamente el 15% del presupuesto total del organismo.

Por su parte, el ministro de Asuntos Exteriores de China, Wang Yi, hizo un llamamiento a la “reconciliación” entre China y Estados Unidos y propuso la elaboración de listas para identificar y resolver las disputas que mantienen ambos países.
“China está dispuesta a hablar si EEUU quiere. Solo el diálogo puede evitar los malentendidos”, afirmó y agregó que ambas potencias han de “coexistir pacíficamente y enviar energías positivas”.
