China alerta de una peligrosa neumonía en Kazajistán mucho más letal que el coronavirus
Una gran parte de los infectados con neumonía han dado negativo en pruebas del coronavirus
La Embajada de China en Kazajistán advirtió a los ciudadanos de su país del aumento de casos de una peligrosa neumonía local, con tasa de mortalidad mayor que la del coronavirus.
Desde comienzos del año, un total de 1.772 personas han muerto de neumonía en Kazajistán. Solo en junio fallecieron 628 pacientes, incluidos ciudadanos chinos, reza el texto de un comunicado en el sitio web de la Embajada.
Una gran parte de los infectados con neumonía dieron negativo en pruebas del coronavirus. No obstante, reciben tratamiento con los mismos medicamentos antivirales que se usan contra el SARS-CoV-2.
Ayzhan Esmagambétova, jefa médica sanitaria, informó que las muestras de hisopo nasal tomadas a los pacientes con neumonía pueden dar negativo al coronavirus. Según la especialista, eso puede deberse a que la infección por coronavirus desciende rápidamente de las vías respiratorias superiores a las inferiores.
El miércoles, el presidente de Kazajistán, Kasym-Zhomart Tokáyev, notificó que el país está experimentando «la segunda ola de coronavirus, junto con un gran aumento de los casos de neumonía».
Tan solo entre el 29 de junio y el 5 de julio, el Ministerio de Salud kazajo ha registrado más de 32.000 casos de neumonía y más de 9.400 de covid-19. Durante ese período murieron 451 personas con neumonía y 76 con coronavirus.
Por tales causas, la semana pasada volvió a imponer Kazajistán una estricta cuarentena.
