Adidas, Ford y HP se unen al boicot contra Facebook y retirarán su publicidad de la red social
Empresas como Unilever, Coca-Cola y Starbucks se anticiparon en el mismo paso
Las compañías Adidas, Ford y Hewlett-Packard (HP) anunciaron este lunes que retirarán sus anuncios de Facebook como parte de la campaña #StopHate4Profit, organizada la semana pasada por varios grupos de derechos civiles, informa Reuters.
El gigante alemán de ropa deportiva Adidas y su subsidiaria Reebok afirmaron que suspenderán su publicidad en Facebook e Instagram a nivel mundial durante todo julio.
Por su parte, el fabricante de ordenadores HP informó que detendrá su publicidad en Facebook, en el territorio estadounidense, hasta que esa red social ponga en marcha medidas de protección más sólidas contra contenidos cuestionables. Añadió que «estaba revisando su estrategia de medios sociales en todos los mercados y plataformas».
Anteriormente, las empresas Unilever –propietaria de marcas como Dove, Ben & Jerry’s y Hellmann’s–, Coca-Cola y Starbucks, entre otras, se unieron al boicot, a pesar de que el fundador y director ejecutivo de Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, anunció diversos pasos que la red social adoptará para combatir el discurso de odio antes de las elecciones presidenciales de 2020.
