Un reconocido esquiador murió tras una caída libre de 700 metros en los Alpes franceses
Hugo Hoff, de 21 años, falleció tras la caída en el Mont Blanc, uno de los puntos más altos de toda Europa.
El mundo del esquí se viste de luto tras un nuevo accidente mortal: Hugo Hoff, esquiador freerider de 21 años, perdió la vida tras precipitarse descendiendo por el corredor Gervasutti del Mont Blanc, que supera los 4.000 metros y tiene pendientes extremas de hasta 55 grados.
El francés iba acompañado de otro freerider que solo resultó herido leve y pudo ser llevado a un hospital, cuya identidad todavía es desconocida.

Como muchos otros jóvenes de montaña empezó con el esquí alpino, aunque rápidamente se dejó seducir por el freeride, tal como él mismo señalaba hace unos tres años. “Crecí en Serrechevalier, donde estuve compitiendo en esquí alpino unos diez años. Lo dejé en el 2015 después de que descubriera el freeski. Quiero aportar algo diferente al freeride, peor de momento me he centrado en las competiciones.
Así se expresaba en Twitter, el propio Freeride World Tour: “Con gran pesar informamos de a muerte del rider del FWQ Hugo Hoff. Hugo era un esquiador increíblemente talentoso y un joven amable. Falleció después de un accidente en el macizo del Mont Blanc. Nuestros pensamientos están con su familia y amigos”
