Manifestantes armados hasta con lanzacohetes rechazan la cuarentena
Protestan por el extenso confinamiento y piden levantar las medidas de aislamiento en Raleigh, Carolina del Norte.
Un grupo de manifestantes armados que desfilaron por el centro de Raleigh, Carolina del Norte, Estados Unidos, sorprendieron por el terrible nivel de armamento que portaban. Protestaban por la extensión de la cuarentena por coronavirus y pedían a las autoridades que se levante el confinamiento.
Travis Long, un reportero gráfico de The News & Observer, tuiteó fotos que tomó de los vecinos, quienes llevaban escopetas, pistolas y un lanzacohetes antitanque AT-4.
El sábado, Carolina del Norte comenzó la fase uno para reabrir la economía, pero todavía hay restricciones, las cuales rechazan los manifestantes.
Las fotos, que fueron retuiteadas casi 8.000 veces, se volvieron virales en las redes sociales y llamaron la atención de celebridades como Patton Oswalt, Kathy Griffin y Mia Farrow. En Estados Unidos es legal que las personas porten armas, siempre que estén en un lugar visible y que cuenten con la documentación respaldatoria.

La manifestación del sábado fue organizada por un grupo llamado Blue Igloo. El grupo respondió anoche, a través de un correo electrónico enviado a los medios locales, que «la caminata del sábado no fue una protesta, fue una reunión para apoyar nuestras libertades dadas por Dios como estadounidenses». «Salimos a caminar para tomar un poco de aire fresco, sol y algo de ejercicio muy necesario», agregaron con ironía.
