Un joven estudiaba subido a un árbol, cambió su vida y la de su pueblo
Sus compañeros de facultad viralizaron esa imagen. Hoy, todo Atiquizaya, en El Salvador, ya tiene conexión.
Hasta hace algunos días, el joven salvadoreño Alexander Contreras se subía a un árbol de guama cerca de su casa para poder tomar sus clases online de periodismo. “Cuatro horas, todos los días, acá aguantando sol o aguantando calor con tal de recibir mi clase”, dice Alexander. No era una queja, sino su responsabilidad por cumplir con el estudio virtual, ya que las pandemia de coronavirus había suspendido las clases presenciales.
La imagen del joven, con una sombrilla para protegerse del calor mientras buscaba en lo alto la señal, conmovió a su padre. “A mí me dejó bastante impactado verlo a él estudiando arriba del árbol…Yo me sentí completamente mal, pero ya económicamente no podía ayudarle más para que él las tomara de otra manera”, relató Miguel Ángel, quien es empleado en un restaurante.
“Nunca imaginé que un árbol que sembramos hace seis años me diera la oportunidad de seguir estudiando”, expresó humildemente.
Alex, como lo conocen sus amigos, es estudiante de tercer año de la carrera de comunicaciones de la Universidad Autónoma de Santa Ana. Tiene 20 años y vive en el municipio de Atiquizaya, en el departamento de Ahuachapán, en una zona de complicado acceso y en donde la señal de internet solo se consigue en las copas de los árboles.
Alexander recibió el regalo entre lágrimas. «Mi papa está muy feliz por todo esto. Ayer él me habló cuando vio el tuit de Nayib Bukele, y me decía: ‘mirad, lo que te van a poner, me decía; tú que tanto has querido esto y yo no te lo he pedido poner por motivos económicos”, expresó el muchacho tras recibir el equipo.
