Niña de cinco años muere de covid-19 tras avisar dolor de cabeza a sus padres
«Decidimos sacarla del respirador porque…básicamente sabíamos que no volvería a nosotros», sentenció la madre, quien en compañía de su marido decidió desconectarla del respirador artificial.
Una niña de cinco años murió de coronavirus en Detroit, Estados Unidos, después de contraer meningitis como una inusual complicación del virus, según información de The Mirror.
La pequeña, de nombre Skylar Herbert, dijo a sus padres que tenía un fuerte dolor de cabeza hace aproximadamente un mes, pero no hicieron mucho, pues «no era un síntoma de covid-19».
Los padres de la occisa la llevaron al hospital Beaumont Royal Oak, donde resultó positivo a coronavirus.
Fue dada de alta al día siguiente para recuperarse en casa, pero volvieron al nosocomio al día siguiente por su mala salud y la de su padre, que comenzó con síntomas del mismo virus.
Desarrolló meningitis como complicación del covid-19, enfermedad que causó inflamación del tejido cerebral y una lesión en el lóbulo frontal.
La Sra. Herbert aseguró que los médicos no pronósticaban gran mejoría, por lo que decidieron quitarle la ayuda repiratoria.
