Volcán Krakatoa hizo erupción en Indonesia
Columna de cenizas alcanzó los 15 km de altura y estruendo se escuchó a 150 km de distancia.
El volcán Anak Krakatau (en español, hijo del Krakatoa), ubicado en el archipielago de Indonesia, ha despertado nuevamente. Tras entrar en erupción, el estruendo pudo escucharse en Jakarta, la capital, situada a 145 kilómetros. La columna de humo y cenizas que produjo volcán, alcanzó los 500 metros aproximadamente.
El volcán Krakatoa de Indonesia hizo erupción durante la noche de este viernes 10 de abril arrojando una columna de ceniza que alcanzó los 15 kilómetros de altura.
El servicio de vulcanología de Indonesia señaló en un informe que el volcán, uno de los más activos del país, entró en erupción anoche dos veces y durante un total de casi 40 minutos.Las autoridades indicaron que supervisan de cerca la actividad de Anak Krakatau, ubicado en una isla deshabitada en el estrecho de Sonda, por si entrara de nuevo en erupción.
Por su parte, el vulcanólogo indonesio Devy Kamil Syahbana llamó a la calma al señalar que “esta erupción no desencadenará la erupción de algún otro volcán”.
El sitio web especializado en volcanes, Volcano Discovery, señaló que hay reportes y videos donde se muestra mucha activad con fuentes de lava.
La erupción más reciente del volcán fue en diciembre del año 2018, dicha erupción generó un tsunami que impactó la costa de oeste de Java, donde fallecieron 400 personas.
Como se recuerda, en 1883 el volcán Krakatoa registró su erupción más fuerte, la cual aniquiló a más de 36 mil personas.
No obstante, expertos en vulcanología locales señalan que lo ocurrido esta noche no debería desencadenar otra erupción más fuerte, pero admitieron que seguirán de cerca la actividad iniciada la noche del viernes.
