Panamá cancelará por 30 días todos los vuelos internacionales
La medida empezará a regir a partir del próximo domingo.
El presidente de Panamá, Laurentino Cortizo, anunció este jueves que a partir del domingo cancelará todos los vuelos internacionales, tanto de salida como de ingreso al país, por los próximos 30 días, para evitar la propagación del coronavirus.
La medida regirá a partir de las 11:59 de la noche del 22 de marzo, y se suma a la prohibición de entrada de extranjeros, anunciada el pasado lunes.
La medida es aplicable a todos los vuelos internacionales de llegada y salida, y afecta particularmente al Aeropuerto de Tocumen, una de las terminales áreas más importantes de Latinoamérica por número de destinos y tráfico movilizado. Opera vuelos desde y hacia más de 90 ciudades de América y Europa, cubriendo gran parte de Latinoamérica. Es también el hub principal de operaciones de Copa Airlines, aerolínea que ya redujo el 80% de sus actividades.
La acción fue adoptada este jueves por Cortizo, como medida frente al avance del coronavirus en el país, que hasta el 19 de marzo ya sumaba 137 casos y un fallecido.
Ecuador, Colombia, El Salvador y Guatemala están entre los países de la región que ya han cerrado -o han anunciado que lo harán- sus cielos.
