Siguen aumentando las muertes por coronavirus ya van 2.744
El Ministerio de Sanidad de China ha confirmado este jueves que son 2.744 personas las que han muerto a causa del brote del nuevo coronavirus y 78.497 los contagiados.
La COVID-19, la enfermedad causada por el coronavirus de Wuhan, dejó en China 433 nuevos casos confirmados y 29 muertes más a lo largo de la jornada del miércoles, según informaron hoy las autoridades sanitarias del país.
Estas cifras suponen un leve avance de menos del 7 % en los nuevos contagios registrados con respecto al día anterior, aunque las muertes registradas el miércoles cayeron un 44 % en comparación con el martes.
Así pues, el acumulado de fallecidos hasta el momento en China se sitúa en 2.744 y el de casos confirmados en 78.497, según el último balance ofrecido por la Comisión Nacional de Sanidad, actualizado hasta la pasada medianoche hora local (16.00 GMT del miércoles).
Del total de casos confirmados, 43.258 siguen activos, un 5 % menos. No obstante, entre estos casos pacientes hay 8.346, un 19,3 %, que se encuentran en estado grave.
La buena noticia es que 32.495 personas han sido dadas ya de alta tras superar la enfermedad, un 9 % más que el martes.
Durante el martes hubo 409 nuevos casos y 26 nuevas muertes en esa provincia; 383 de los contagios y 19 de los decesos corresponden a su capital, Wuhan, donde se cree que surgió el nuevo coronavirus, bautizado como SARS-CoV-2.
Aunque más de una treintena de países cuentan con casos diagnosticados de COVID-19, China acapara más del 95 % de los infectados.
Los síntomas de la nueva enfermedad son en muchos casos parecidos a los de un resfriado, pero pueden venir acompañados de fiebre y fatiga, tos seca y disnea (dificultad para respirar).
