Aumentan policías de tránsito en carretera
El Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT) ha dado a conocer un plan para aumentar la presencia de policías de tránsito en las carreteras, motivado por el crecimiento de actividades recreativas en Costa Rica durante los últimos meses del año. Esta medida busca garantizar la seguridad de los conductores y minimizar los problemas de tráfico que podrían surgir durante esta temporada festiva.
A partir de octubre, cuando se inicia una serie de celebraciones como Halloween y las festividades navideñas, la institución advierte sobre la importancia de seguir ciertas recomendaciones para mejorar la fluidez del tráfico. Una de las estrategias sugeridas es el giro a la derecha en un semáforo en rojo, lo cual es legal entre las 10:00 p.m. y las 5:00 a.m. Este método no solo es permitido, sino que se plantea como una solución para aliviar los congestionamientos en momentos críticos.
Con estas iniciativas, el MOPT no solo busca reducir la congestión vehicular, sino también promover una mayor seguridad en las carreteras durante un período donde las salidas y actividades recreativas son más frecuentes.
