Traslado de Marta Esquivel a San José tras ser detenida en Pérez Zeledón
Este lunes, Marta Esquivel, presidenta ejecutiva de la Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social (CCSS), fue detenida y trasladada desde Pérez Zeledón a San José por agentes del Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), según lo muestra un video difundido por TV Sur. Esquivel se presentó voluntariamente a la delegación del OIJ en Pérez Zeledón, luego de que las autoridades judiciales la buscaran previamente en su residencia en Barrio La California, San José, sin éxito.
El motivo de su detención se vincula a una investigación que la señala como imputada por presuntos sobreprecios en la adjudicación de los servicios para 138 Equipos Básicos de Atención Integral en Salud (ebáis), distribuidos en 10 áreas de salud. Esta pesquisa forma parte de una serie de más de 28 allanamientos realizados en relación con el caso.
El Ministerio Público informó que los implicados en esta investigación habrían anulado un proceso de compra que estaba listo para su publicación, para sustituirlo con uno nuevo bajo su control. Además, se alega que Esquivel y otros funcionarios modificaron los términos del concurso en favor de las cooperativas interesadas, a pesar de que las ofertas presentadas eran significativamente más costosas.
De acuerdo con la Fiscalía, las nuevas propuestas habrían incrementado el costo anual de los servicios en más de 12.400 millones de colones, comparado con el monto que la CCSS gastaría si asumiera directamente esos servicios bajo las mismas condiciones técnicas.
Marta Esquivel fue trasladada al II Circuito Judicial de San José, donde deberá rendir su declaración indagatoria. Posteriormente, se presentará en una audiencia de medidas cautelares en el Juzgado Penal de Hacienda y de la Función Pública, ubicado en Goicoechea.
