Propuesta para Extraer Oro en Crucitas: Gobierno Presentará Borrador a Diputados
En un giro significativo para la minería en Costa Rica, la Presidencia de la República está lista para presentar una propuesta que permitiría la extracción de oro en Crucitas, ubicada en la Zona Norte del país. Este desarrollo, anunciado por la ministra de la Presidencia, Laura Fernández, podría marcar un cambio crucial en la política minera del país.

Laura Fernández confirmó a Grupo Extra que la propuesta está completa y será discutida en la próxima reunión entre el presidente Rodrigo Chaves y los líderes de las fracciones legislativas. Según Fernández, la propuesta aún no se ha socializado debido a la reciente enfermedad de Rodrigo Arias, un factor que ha retrasado la concertación del encuentro.
“Hace unos días solicitamos un nuevo espacio con el presidente Chaves y los jefes de fracción para continuar con este importante tema. La propuesta ya está lista para ser discutida en equipo”, explicó Fernández.
Contexto de la Propuesta
La propuesta llega tras la reciente resolución del Centro Internacional de Arreglo de Diferencias Relativas a Inversiones (Ciadi) sobre el litigio con la empresa minera canadiense Infinito Gold Ltda. Después de una prolongada disputa de 10 años, la resolución eximió a Costa Rica de pagar $395 millones, más intereses, a la empresa que intentaba desarrollar una mina de oro a cielo abierto en Cutris de San Carlos.
En respuesta a la sentencia, el presidente Chaves ha señalado la importancia de “explotar de manera responsable” los recursos minerales en la finca Vivoyet y sus alrededores. Chaves ha enfatizado que, sin la presión de pagar la compensación millonaria, el país debe ahora decidir cómo proteger y aprovechar este recurso de manera beneficiosa y no regalarlo, como se hizo anteriormente.
Otros Temas en la Agenda Legislativa
La diputada oficialista Pilar Cisneros expresó su optimismo por la próxima reunión con los líderes legislativos. Además del tema de Crucitas, Cisneros destacó la importancia de abordar otros asuntos pendientes, como las Jornadas Flexibles (jornadas 4-3) y el Fondo de Avales.
“Estamos comprometidos a seguir trabajando en estos temas. Las Jornadas Flexibles y el Fondo de Avales son cruciales para impulsar obras públicas vitales”, afirmó Cisneros.
La fecha exacta de la reunión entre Chaves y los diputados para discutir la propuesta sobre Crucitas aún no ha sido confirmada, pero se espera que se realice pronto para definir el futuro de la minería en la región.
