Decomisan Lujosos Vehículos a Pastor Implicado en Caso de Lavado de Dinero en San Carlos
Este martes, una serie de allanamientos en San Carlos culminó con la incautación de varios vehículos de lujo pertenecientes a un pastor de apellidos Barboza Pilartes, implicado en el conocido Caso Shark, una investigación llevada a cabo por la Sección de Legitimación de Capitales del Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ).
Entre los bienes confiscados se encontraban un Jeep Gladiator, un Toyota Prado, y una Ford Raptor, todos extraídos de la propiedad del predicador ubicada en Aguas Zarcas, localidad donde reside y lidera una iglesia. El allanamiento finalizó alrededor de las 2 p.m., después de horas de inspección.
Operación Shark y Lavado de Dinero
La investigación en la que está involucrado Barboza Pilartes forma parte de una operación de mayor envergadura, denominada «Caso Shark». Según las declaraciones de Randall Zúñiga, director del OIJ, la organización criminal bajo investigación está sospechada de realizar lavado de dinero procedente de la exportación de drogas. La modalidad consistía en contaminar contenedores de piña y yuca que eran exportados desde Costa Rica hacia Europa.
El OIJ realizó un total de 23 allanamientos en diferentes puntos del país, incluyendo San José, Alajuela y Puntarenas, en busca de desarticular la red criminal y confiscar bienes valorados en casi 2 millones de dólares. Entre los elementos decomisados destacan cabezas de ganado, propiedades, y varios automóviles de alta gama.
Un Peso Pesado en la Mira de la DEA
El supuesto cabecilla de la organización, identificado como Meléndez León, figura en la lista de los más buscados por la Administración de Control de Drogas (DEA) de Estados Unidos, siendo uno de los llamados «7 Tiburones del Pacífico». El director del OIJ confirmó que Meléndez está entre los primeros 50 nombres en la lista de los criminales más buscados a nivel global por la DEA, lo que resalta la magnitud de la operación.
Además del pastor y Meléndez León, otras personas detenidas durante los allanamientos incluyen dos gerentes y un tesorero del Banco de Costa Rica, así como un empresario del sector piñero, de apellido Arosemena.
Este caso sigue en desarrollo, con las autoridades buscando más pruebas y bienes relacionados con la red de lavado de dinero.
