Encuentran Drogas, Armas y Dinero en Allananiento de Mega Red de Lavado
Operativo Antinarcóticos Revela Drogas, Armas y Dinero en Caso de Lavado de Dinero
En una operación sin precedentes, el Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) ha incautado una significativa cantidad de cocaína, armas y dinero en efectivo durante un allanamiento en Alajuela, como parte de la investigación del Caso Shark. La intervención, que comenzó a primera hora de la mañana de este martes, desmanteló una red presuntamente vinculada con el lavado de dinero proveniente del narcotráfico.
Los agentes encontraron siete paquetes, cada uno con aproximadamente un kilogramo de cocaína, así como una cantidad considerable de efectivo escondido en cajones dentro de una residencia en Alajuela. Además, se confiscaron armas de fuego y otros bienes relacionados con el crimen organizado. Este hallazgo subraya el complejo entramado de la red investigada, la cual se dedica a blanquear activos obtenidos de la exportación de droga a Europa.
Operación Multidimensional
La operación, que se extendió a diversas localidades como Santa Ana, Ciudad Colón, Aguas Zarcas, La Palmera de San Carlos y Upala, se dirige a desarticular una presunta banda dedicada al lavado de dinero. Según las investigaciones, esta organización utilizaba envíos de tubérculos y frutas a España, a través de empacadoras donde se encontraban miembros de la banda, para encubrir el origen ilícito de su dinero.
Los líderes del grupo son identificados como los costarricenses de apellidos Meléndez León y Arosemena Siles. Meléndez León, quien también es conocido como uno de los “7 Tiburones del Pacífico” por su presunto vínculo con el Clan del Golfo en Colombia, figura en la lista de los 50 fugitivos más buscados por la DEA.
Involucramiento de Funcionarios Bancarios
La investigación del OIJ también ha señalado a tres empleados del Banco de Costa Rica (BCR) como cómplices en la operación de blanqueo. Estos individuos, con apellidos Zúñiga, Salas y Vargas, presuntamente ayudaron a introducir el dinero del narcotráfico en el sistema financiero nacional, disfrazándolo como ganancias de negocios legítimos.
El operativo tiene como objetivo la captura de 23 personas sospechosas, y hasta el momento, las autoridades han decomisado:
- 874.000 colones
- 12.140 dólares
- 2 armas de fuego
- 35 municiones sin percutir
- 15 teléfonos celulares
- 6 computadoras portátiles
- 1 grabador de video
- 3 vehículos
- 26 cabezas de ganado
- 7 dispositivos de almacenamiento
Estos elementos, junto con otros indicios, están siendo analizados para fortalecer el caso contra la red criminal.
