Bebé de un año gravemente herida tras ataque de un perro American Stafford
Una niña de un año y medio fue llevada de urgencia al Hospital Nacional de Niños (HNN) tras sufrir una mordedura de perro.
El hecho ocurrió en Calle Lizanías, Río Azul, en La Unión de Cartago, la mañana del pasado jueves.
Según informó la Cruz Roja Costarricense, el incidente involucró a un perro de raza American Stafford, que causó graves traumas en el cráneo de la menor. La niña fue trasladada al hospital en condiciones críticas.
Aún no se ha determinado cómo ocurrió el ataque ni el estado actual de la pequeña. La Cruz Roja respondió rápidamente con una unidad básica para atender la emergencia.
Luis Garro, paramédico de la Cruz Roja, detalló: “Recibimos una solicitud para atender a una menor de un año que aparentemente fue mordida por un perro en Cartago. Enviamos una unidad al lugar, donde atendimos a la niña y la trasladamos al hospital en estado crítico”.
En otro incidente similar en Heredia, otra niña también fue mordida por un perro. Cristian Quesada, paramédico de la benemérita institución, explicó que la menor fue evaluada y trasladada a un centro médico en condición estable.
Luis Garro recordó la importancia de la supervisión de los menores al interactuar con animales, incluso si estos han sido parte de la familia durante mucho tiempo.
“Es fundamental que los adultos mantengan siempre la vigilancia sobre los niños cuando estén cerca de cualquier animal para garantizar su seguridad”, recomendó Garro.
