El MEP lanza innovador programa de educación religiosa con apoyo interreligioso

En una movida inédita, el Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP) ha revelado su plan para un nuevo Programa de Educación Religiosa, el cual se encuentra a punto de ser presentado al Consejo Superior de Educación (CSE). Este programa, que promete transformar la enseñanza religiosa en las escuelas, se enfoca en inculcar principios y valores universales a los estudiantes, diferenciándose notablemente del enfoque actual.
El innovador modelo educativo cuenta con el respaldo de una amplia variedad de comunidades religiosas, incluyendo las iglesias Luterana, Adventista, Anglicana, Católica, Evangélica, Episcopal, así como asociaciones como la Comunidad Bahaí, Budista, Musulmana, Judía, Sociedad Bíblica de Costa Rica, Asociación Proyecto Jesús para los Niños, Comisión Nuestros Niños son Sagrados, Foro Interreligioso y Gedeones Internacionales. Este amplio espectro de apoyo subraya el compromiso del MEP de integrar diversas perspectivas y valores en el currículo.
Anna Katharina Müller, la ministra de Educación, enfatizó la importancia de esta colaboración interreligiosa: “Con la participación de todos, sí podemos realizar los cambios necesarios. Estamos comprometidos a recuperar los principios y valores que se han perdido. Este esfuerzo conjunto es una muestra de cómo la educación puede mejorar, y esperamos que sirva como ejemplo para otros países.”
El nuevo programa no solo ajustará los perfiles de salida para estudiantes en distintos niveles educativos, sino también redefinirá las expectativas y formaciones para los docentes encargados de su implementación. La propuesta busca una educación de calidad, centrada en valores compartidos por diversas religiones, con la esperanza de fortalecer la formación moral y ética de los jóvenes costarricenses.
