Aumentan los casos de infección por gusano barrenador: ya son 28 personas afectadas

El Ministerio de Salud ha confirmado dos nuevos casos de infección por gusano barrenador en humanos, lo que eleva a 28 el total de afectados. Esta enfermedad, provocada por la larva de una mosca que deposita sus huevos en heridas abiertas, continúa generando preocupación entre la población y las autoridades.
Situación actual y medidas preventivas
Hasta el momento, más de 5,000 animales, en su mayoría ganado, también han sido infectados por este parásito. Las autoridades sanitarias instan a la población a extremar las medidas de higiene y cuidado, especialmente si se tiene alguna lesión expuesta que pueda ser blanco de esta plaga.
La enfermedad, conocida por causar severos daños en los tejidos de personas y animales, requiere atención inmediata para evitar complicaciones. Las recomendaciones incluyen limpiar bien las heridas, cubrirlas adecuadamente y acudir al médico en caso de notar signos de infección.
Preocupación en el sector ganadero
El sector ganadero ha sido el más afectado hasta ahora, y las autoridades están trabajando en conjunto con el Servicio Nacional de Salud Animal (SENASA) para controlar el brote en los animales y prevenir que siga propagándose. Sin embargo, el incremento de casos en humanos ha puesto en alerta a la población, que teme por su salud ante el aumento de las infecciones.
Se reitera a la ciudadanía la importancia de seguir las indicaciones de las autoridades y reportar cualquier síntoma relacionado con esta enfermedad, con el fin de evitar una mayor propagación.
