Dos atropellos en solo 11 minutos: Adulto mayor muere atropellado en Guanacaste
En un trágico incidente ocurrido en Nicoya, Guanacaste, un adulto mayor de 69 años, identificado como Álvarez por el Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ), perdió la vida tras ser atropellado por una buseta mientras intentaba cruzar la calle. El accidente ocurrió el viernes por la tarde y ha dejado conmocionada a la comunidad local.
Detalles del trágico accidente
De acuerdo con la información inicial proporcionada por el OIJ, la víctima estaba en el cruce peatonal cuando fue embestida por el vehículo. El conductor de la buseta permaneció en el lugar del accidente y se sometió a una prueba de alcoholemia, la cual resultó negativa, descartando el consumo de alcohol como un factor en el accidente.
Investigación en curso
El cuerpo de Álvarez fue trasladado a la morgue judicial para realizar la autopsia correspondiente. Las autoridades están llevando a cabo una investigación para determinar las circunstancias exactas que llevaron al atropello fatal.
Otro atropello en la misma noche
El trágico incidente en Nicoya se suma a otro atropello reportado por la Cruz Roja Costarricense (CRC) en un intervalo de solo 11 minutos. El primer atropello ocurrió en Guatuso, Alajuela, a las 6:24 p.m., donde un hombre fue trasladado en estado crítico a un centro médico. Apenas 11 minutos después, a las 6:35 p.m., se reportó el atropello en Nicoya que resultó en la muerte del adulto mayor.

Estos eventos subrayan la necesidad urgente de prestar atención a las normas de seguridad vial y a la responsabilidad de los conductores para prevenir accidentes.
