Rodrigo Chaves Defiende su Patrimonio y Rechaza Acusaciones de Vínculos con el Crimen
El presidente Rodrigo Chaves ha salido al paso de las recientes acusaciones que sugieren que su patrimonio podría estar vinculado con actividades ilícitas. En una declaración contundente, Chaves negó que sus bienes, incluidos su residencia y relojes de lujo, provengan de fuentes sospechosas, como el narcotráfico o grupos criminales.
Una Vida de Servicio Internacional
Chaves subrayó que su fortuna es el resultado de décadas de trabajo en el Banco Mundial, una carrera que lo llevó a vivir y trabajar en 42 países a lo largo de 36 años. Según el mandatario, su experiencia en el ámbito internacional y el manejo de grandes sumas de dinero en portafolios y presupuestos fueron la base para adquirir sus propiedades. “He vivido la mayor parte de mi vida fuera del país, desempeñando funciones diplomáticas y manejando grandes sumas de dinero en el Banco Mundial. Cuando regresé a Costa Rica y adquirí mi casa, fue con dinero ganado legítimamente,” afirmó.
Rechazo a las Acusaciones y Llamado a la Fiscalización
Chaves desafió a las autoridades a revisar exhaustivamente sus cuentas y registros financieros. Aseguró que no tiene deudas con bancos ni tarjetas de crédito, y mucho menos con entidades criminales. «Invito a la Fiscalía a examinar 30 años de mis cuentas corrientes y de inversiones. No le debo un solo colón a nadie, y mucho menos a grupos criminales,” enfatizó el presidente.
Además, Chaves criticó a sus opositores, alegando que están utilizando el sistema judicial como una herramienta para intimidarlo y desacreditar su administración.
