Estos serían los feriados que se trasladarían de fecha en 2025
La Cámara Nacional de Turismo (CANATUR) ha expresado su respaldo a un proyecto de ley que busca modificar el calendario de feriados en Costa Rica para incentivar el turismo.
La propuesta, actualmente en discusión en la Comisión de Turismo de la Asamblea Legislativa, plantea trasladar al lunes los feriados correspondientes a cuatro fechas emblemáticas: el 11 de abril (Día de la Batalla de Rivas), el 1° de mayo (Día del Trabajador), el 25 de julio (Día de la Anexión de Nicoya) y el 1° de diciembre (Día de la Abolición del Ejército).
De aprobarse, los feriados que caigan en martes o miércoles se disfrutarían el lunes anterior, mientras que los que coincidan con un jueves se trasladarían al lunes siguiente.
Esta medida busca aprovechar los fines de semana largos para motivar a los costarricenses a viajar dentro del país, generando un impacto positivo en la economía local.
Shirley Calvo, directora ejecutiva de CANATUR, defendió la propuesta ante los legisladores, destacando que esta estrategia ya ha demostrado su eficacia en el pasado, contribuyendo a la recuperación del sector turístico tras la pandemia.
“El traslado de los feriados a los lunes ha demostrado ser una estrategia efectiva para estimular el turismo interno, lo que a su vez ha generado un impacto positivo en la economía local”, afirmó Calvo.
La jerarca de CANATUR también compartió datos de experiencias previas, en las que medidas similares aumentaron la ocupación hotelera y la actividad comercial en las zonas turísticas, impulsando la creación de empleo.
La Cámara espera que el proyecto reciba el apoyo necesario para avanzar en el proceso legislativo y seguir fortaleciendo uno de los sectores más importantes del país.
