Liberación Nacional se suma a la Marcha en Defensa de la Educación Pública
El Partido Liberación Nacional (PLN) ha anunciado su apoyo total a la Marcha por la Educación Pública programada para este miércoles 28 de agosto, uniendo fuerzas con los sectores estudiantil, magisterial y universitario en una movilización nacional que busca defender el sistema educativo del país.
En un comunicado oficial, las autoridades del PLN, representadas en el Comité Ejecutivo Superior y el Directorio Político Nacional, acordaron de manera unánime respaldar esta movilización. “Como partido político comprometido con el desarrollo social, apoyamos firmemente la Movilización Nacional por la Educación, levantamos nuestra voz y la unimos a quienes defienden la educación pública en todos sus niveles”, destaca la moción aprobada por la fracción.
Liberación Nacional se ha unido a las demandas de los movimientos estudiantiles y magisteriales, exigiendo una cultura de paz, progreso, conocimiento y felicidad para construir una sociedad más tolerante, equitativa e inclusiva. La fracción enfatizó la importancia de la educación pública de calidad como un pilar democrático que ha sido clave en la historia de Costa Rica para lograr la movilidad social y el progreso individual.
Sin embargo, el PLN advirtió que este modelo se ha deteriorado en los últimos tres gobiernos, señalando específicamente a la administración de Rodrigo Chaves Robles por acentuar la crisis. Según el partido, el país se encuentra en una situación alarmante de inequidad social, siendo uno de los más desiguales entre los miembros de la OCDE.
La fracción liberacionista criticó duramente el recorte presupuestario del 2025 para la educación, que el gobierno ha fijado en un 5% del PIB, una cifra inferior al 5.6% del PIB destinado en 2023. Este recorte, junto con el bloqueo a las negociaciones del Fondo Especial para la Educación Superior (FEES), representa un golpe significativo para las universidades, escuelas y colegios públicos del país. Actualmente, se reportan 4 mil centros educativos con órdenes sanitarias, educadores frustrados por la falta de apoyo a sus derechos laborales y la ausencia de políticas educativas claras.
En este contexto, el PLN expresó su preocupación por la actitud del gobierno, señalando que “del Gobierno únicamente se reciben insultos y ataques contra los liderazgos universitarios, magisteriales y estudiantiles, con una clara intención de impedir el pensamiento analítico y crítico, así como potenciar mejores estudiantes para enfrentar sus retos y poner de nuevo a Costa Rica a caminar”.
Con esta postura, el Partido Liberación Nacional reafirma su compromiso con la educación pública y su determinación de luchar por los derechos de las nuevas generaciones, instando a todos los sectores a unirse en defensa del futuro del país.
