Según un estudio de una prestigiosa universidad, reveló cuáles son los trabajos que hacen infelices a las personas y cómo ciertos factores laborales pueden afectar significativamente el estado emocional de los empleados.
Harvard Desvela los Empleos que Generan Mayor Infelicidad
Un extenso estudio realizado por la Universidad de Harvard ha identificado cuáles son los trabajos que contribuyen significativamente a la infelicidad de las personas. Liderado por Robert Waldinger, profesor de Psiquiatría en la Facultad de Medicina de Harvard, esta investigación se llevó a cabo a lo largo de 85 años, comenzando en 1938 y abarcando una muestra de 700 individuos.
Metodología del Estudio
Desde su inicio, el estudio ha recopilado datos médicos y ha mantenido un seguimiento continuo de los participantes, entrevistándolos cada dos años. Este exhaustivo análisis buscaba entender las causas subyacentes de la infelicidad en relación con el empleo y el bienestar personal.
Principales Hallazgos
Según los resultados, la soledad y la falta de interacción social son las principales causas de infelicidad laboral. Waldinger enfatiza que la conexión social es esencial para el bienestar: «La interacción social es una necesidad crítica en todos los aspectos de nuestras vidas. Estar más conectado con las personas te hace sentir más satisfecho con tu trabajo y mejorar tu rendimiento».
Además, trabajos que implican atención al cliente resultan ser particularmente desmoralizantes. La impaciencia y el comportamiento grosero de los clientes hacia el personal de servicio contribuyen significativamente a esta insatisfacción. Asimismo, los empleos con horarios nocturnos también están en la lista, ya que alteran el ritmo social y aumentan el riesgo de problemas de salud.
Empleos que Conducen a la Infelicidad
A partir de la investigación, se identificaron varios empleos que tienden a causar mayores niveles de infelicidad:
- Repartidores: Pasan muchas horas trabajando solos, esperando pedidos y, en el caso de los repartidores en moto, enfrentan riesgos adicionales y condiciones climáticas adversas.
- Conductores de camiones de largas distancias: La soledad prolongada y las largas horas sentados provocan problemas de salud, incluyendo trastornos circulatorios y musculares.
- Guardias de seguridad: Estos trabajadores suelen estar en lugares apartados y sin comunicación con otros, especialmente durante los turnos nocturnos, lo que incrementa su sensación de aislamiento.
- Trabajos nocturnos: Los empleados que trabajan durante la noche experimentan una mayor sensación de soledad y pueden desarrollar estados depresivos, debido a la falta de sincronización con los horarios de sus familiares y amigos.
