El Colegio Montecastelo de Vigo Rompe Estereotipos con Clases de Tareas Domésticas
En Vigo, España, el Colegio Montecastelo ha implementado una iniciativa educativa pionera que enseña a los alumnos tareas del hogar como cocinar, planchar y coser, como parte de su currículo obligatorio.
El director del colegio, José Manuel Rodríguez, explicó a “La Voz de Galicia” que este programa se estableció antes de la pandemia como parte del plan de igualdad en los centros educativos. La idea principal, según Rodríguez, es que los estudiantes comprendan que en el hogar no existen roles específicos de género, sino que todos deben colaborar en las labores domésticas.
Las actividades están dirigidas a estudiantes de entre 14 y 15 años e incluyen también protocolo en la mesa, nociones básicas de electricidad doméstica y manejo de electrodomésticos como la lavadora y el lavavajillas.
Gabriel Bravo, coordinador de estas actividades, enfatizó que se enseñan de manera amena y divertida. Destacó especialmente la clase de cocina, donde los alumnos preparan alimentos que luego se llevan en un táper para consumir.
«Los padres están encantados con los resultados que ven en casa», añadió Rodríguez, señalando la satisfacción de las familias al notar la participación activa de los jóvenes en las tareas del hogar.
Según Bravo, inicialmente los estudiantes suelen sorprenderse al enfrentarse a estas tareas, ya que persiste el estereotipo de que las labores domésticas son responsabilidad exclusiva de las mujeres.
«Les enseñamos que vivir en familia implica ayudar y no solo recibir servicios como en un hotel. Queremos transmitirles autonomía personal, preparándolos para futuras etapas como la universidad o la vida en pareja», explicó el coordinador.
Esta iniciativa no solo busca enseñar habilidades prácticas, sino también fomentar valores de igualdad y responsabilidad compartida en el ámbito doméstico, preparando a los estudiantes para un futuro más equitativo y autónomo
