Gloria Navas enfrenta mega escándalo: usó su credencial de diputada para visitar a peligroso reo en La Reforma
Gloria Navas, diputada del Partido Nueva República y presidenta de la comisión de Seguridad y Crimen Organizado de la Asamblea Legislativa, generó controversia al utilizar su credencial parlamentaria para acceder al Centro de Atención Integral Jorge Arturo Montero Castro, conocido popularmente como La Reforma, el pasado sábado 20 de abril.
La situación se presentó cuando Navas intentó ingresar al recinto en calidad de abogada para visitar a un reo condenado por homicidio y robo agravado. Sin embargo, al ser informada de que no podía acceder bajo esa condición debido a las regulaciones vigentes para días de visitas, la diputada optó por utilizar su credencial parlamentaria para entrar, según informó el medio Trivisión.
El reo al que visitó, identificado como Dustin Nathaniel Reid Brown, cumple una condena de 49 años y 4 meses por los delitos mencionados. Reid Brown, de 43 años, fue condenado por su participación en un violento suceso ocurrido el 14 de abril de 2001.
En ese entonces, el privado de libertad protagonizó varios actos delictivos, incluyendo el robo a un oficial de seguridad privada, el asalto a un camión repartidor utilizando un arma de fuego, el atraco a un taxista con resultado de muerte por un disparo en la cabeza, y el uso del vehículo para perpetrar más robos en la zona de Talamanca.
La diputada Navas accedió al centro penitenciario por el puesto 1 y se dirigió al centro de convivencia D, donde se encuentra recluido Reid Brown.
